Real life ext3 failure, 2 TB filesystem. fsck was unable to fix the problem within a week, even with 64Bit linux, 4GB RAM and a huge (64GB) swap partition. I would not recommend ext3 for anything bigger than 200GB. The wiki should contain a clear warning about ext3 and TB-sized filesystems! It is nearly impossible to fix a big (TB-size) inconsistent ext3 filesystem. Our "fix" was a backup (!) to a big data store and put the data on several small ext3-filesystems afterwards. Actually not funny. --Treffer 12:44, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
